Modular electrical probing stage
Precision temperature control from -190°C to 600°C with 2" sample area
Gastight chamber with optical access for condensation prevention or reaction gasses
4 or 6 electrical probers, optional upgrade for -MPeX sliding probers to accomodate thermal expansion
Upgradable to fine XYZ micropositioning via -MPS prober arms
The HCP602SG-MP (V10.00.00) is a gastight, temperature-controlled modular probing stage capable of heating and cooling between -190°C and 600°C. Four (4) or Six (6) independent, electrical probers are manually positioned onto the sample, which rests on a 50mm x 50mm silver thermal block. The standard electrical probers are reccomended for electrical pads larger than 600um x 600um, while the upgraded -MPeX sliding probers are reccomended for smaller pads (250um x 250um minimum), or for samples that are sensitive to thermal expansion. Electrical heating provides precision temperature control up to 600°C, while Instec's optional LN2-P system enables sample cooling via LN2 circulation down to -190°C.
The HCP602SG-MP gastight chamber supports a positive-pressure gas purge up to +0.5 Bar for reactive/ Inert gasses or humidity control. The alternative HCP402SV-MP has a rough 10*10^-3 mBar evacuation for prevention of condensation or oxidation while heating/ cooling. The vacuum-tight version is strongly recommended for extended duration experiments at low temperatures, but has a reduced upper heating limit of 400ºC under vacuum.
This modular probing stage is ideal for performing electrical device or materials characterization, and can easily be used with optical instruments to add temperature control capabilities to almost any optical tool. This probing stage can also easily be upgraded to enable fine XYZ movement via micrometer dials on the prober frame, ultimately allowing prober movement even when the chamber is sealed and uunder vacuum.
Upgrade to the HCP602SG-MP+ model to access advanced customization options such as additional electrical feedthroughs, transmission apertures, triaxial/ SMA connector options, custom lids and much more.
