This TP10CG+ was designed as a custom, supersized version of the Instec ALCT-EO1 automatic liquid crystal test system. The massive thermoelectric heating plate has a gastight lid to prevent condensation via gas-purge, and supports heating and cooling of samples up to 300mm x 300mm from -30°C to 90°C. In the center of the thermal area is a transmission aperture for conducting transmission vs applied voltage experiments. Liquid crystal samples are loaded and precisley temperature controlled. The Instec ALCT (automated liquid crystal tester) applies a modulated voltage and measures the resulting change in transmission, using the data to calculate important LC properties such as response time and T(V).
The thermal plate is affixed to a supersized version of the ALCT-EO1 measurment platform, which has movable arms for positioning the light source/ sensors, as well as a rotating platform for aligning the LC sample relative to the polarized light source.
