This customized HCS321Gi+ inverted micsroscopy stage demonstrates a small but meaningfull customization to one of our most popular stages. In the standard HCS321Gi the sample area (heating block) is fixed to the frame. The sample is accessed by removing an inner lid and is held in place by gravity. For this customized version, the intended miscroscope was a Nikon Ti2-U in reflection mode, so changes had to be made to the sample loading strategy. Instead of a full transmission aperture, a single observation window was created on the bottom side of the stage and the sample area itself was designed to be removed so that samples could be loaded from the top. Once the sample is loaded, the heating block is secured in place via an inner lid and the stage can be used for inverted microscopy. The stage has a temperature range of RT to 230°C and has a gas-tight sample chamber allowing for dry gas purge. Custom mounting solutions support mounting directly to the microscope or to a motorized Piezo-electric stage. Frame cooling ports ensure that the outside of the stage remains safe to touch even at 230°C.
